A vantagem de envelhecer, pensou Peter Walsh, saindo do Regent's Park com o chapéu na mão, era só esta; as paixões permaneciam tão fortes quanto antes, mas a gente dispunha - por fim! - daquele poder que confere o sabor supremo à existência - o poder de agarrar a experiência, de examiná-la por todos os lados, lentamente, sob a luz.
